Commuters

As part of my job I have to travel back and fourth to London everyday… The Daily Commute.

Whilst I generally don’t mind the journey (as long as the trains aren’t delayed), the one thing that really pee’s me off are my fellow commuters. Not all of them, but a large majority of them.

In an ideal world, we would either have our own carriage or everyone would be behave like me when on a train. It’s a 35 minute journey where I would like to sit back, relax and prepare my self for the day ahead or sit back, relax and get over the day I have had.

Is it possible for that to happen? NO!!

Firstly, I have to sit there and listen to little Miss Happy on the phone to her mates, telling them what she did, or who she did the night before, and what she intends to do for the up and coming month. Once she has got of the phone to one friend, they phone the next person in there phone book and repeat the whole conversation again.. and again… and again. She manages to talk from the moment she gets on the train to the moment she gets off. No point in moving carriages, cos there is a clone on every single carriage doing exactly the same thing!! In an ideal world, Mobile Phones would be banned on public transport.

Why don’t the trains ever run on time and is electric shock treatment the answer…

And before you say that I must have something against trains in general, this is not true - I am the first to recommend the rail network in Switzerland. No the limit of my anger is against those trains that are supposed to be here, supposed to be here right now, but surprise surprise are noticeably absent.

After giving it lots of thought (while waiting for trains) I have decided that what the rail industry needs is a new incentive plan for the train company execs and a new set of rules for running the trains. Once implemented, and for this I will need your support, I know we can all look forward to a future of punctual, reliable, train travelling bliss.
